BiographyEdward J. Daly Sr. was born on 29 March 1892 in Hartford, Connecticut. He attended South School (now called Chauncery Harris School), Hartford Public High School, and Cornell University. He was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Connecticut in 1915. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He was elected Attorney General of Connecticut in 1934 and served in that office until 1937 when he was elected Judge of the Superior Court by the Governor, Wilbur L. Cross, and the 1937 General Assembly. He served as an Associate Justice and later Chief Justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court from 1953 to 1959 and as one of three United States presiding judges at the Nuremberg Trials. He died on 20 July 1959.
