DescriptionInfant's shirt of white cotton. It is made of a long rectangle of fabric, with the narrow ends folded to overlap at the center back, creating an opening. The top edge is slit for 1 1/2 inches, about 1 1/4 inches from the side. This creates front and back flaps that fold down over the belly band, and flaps that fold diagonally back over the shoulder. These flaps are all edged with a narrow, simple, eyelet trimming. The side folds are slit for 3 1/2 inches for setting in the narrow sleeve, which is also edged with the eyelet trim.
