DescriptionInfant's shirt of fine, white cotton. The shirt is constructed of a long, narrow rectangle with the short ends folded to the center back. The folds of the sides are slit to accomodate the short sleeves, which consist of two strips of bobbin lace sewn together, equalling a width of 1 7/8 inches. The top edge of the shirt fabric is slit vertically one inch from each side to form the shoulder straps and flaps at front and back which fold down over the belly band. The shoulder is inserted with a strip of bobbin lace, which is flanked by rows of drawn threadwork. The flaps are also decorated with a row of drawn threadwork, and are edged with bobbin lace.
