DescriptionInfant's shirt of undyed wool flannel. The shirt is made by folding the short ends of a rectangle towards the center back. The wide, rounded neckline is cut out of the top edge, and semicircular cuts are made in the folded edges to form the armholes. A small gusset is set into the bottom of each armhole. The neckline edge is embellished with herringbone stitch in a pale aqua silk thread. The center back opening fastens with three mother of pearl buttons. The proper left edge of the opening, along with the buttonholes, is also embellished with the herringbone stitch.
