DescriptionInfant's shirt of plain white cotton. The body is made of a long rectangle of fabric folded in half and seamed. Another rectangle of fabric, cut with a tab that folds up diagonally to form a gusset, is stitched into the sides to form each sleeve. The upper section of the sleeve is stitched to a 1 5/8-inch-wide rectangle that covers the shoulder. This construction of the shoulder creates a wide, square neckline. The sides are slit and narrow-hemmed to a depth of 1 1/4 inches from the bottom edge.
