DescriptionFinely stitched chemise of plain white cotton. The front and back are cut separately and joined by shoulder straps. The neckline is wide and square, of equal depth at front and back (5" deep x 13" wide). A drawstring adjusts the fit along the lower edge of the neckline on both sides. The sleeves are short (6 1/2 inches) and gathered into the top of the shoulder strap. Underarm gussets provide ease. The lower armhole is reinforced with a backing of cotton fabric. Triangular insertions at the side seams create flare. The hem and sleeve edges are turned under about 1/4 inch.
