DescriptionPlain cotton chemise with a square neck yoke. The neckline is wide and round (about 3 1/2 inches deep x 10 1/2 inches wide) and trimmed with a ribbed cotton edging simulating a pleated ruffle. The yoke closes with two small mother of pearl buttons. The sleeves are short (7 1/8-inch) and gathered into the top of the shoulder. Underarm gussets provide ease. The sleeve openings are trimmed with the ribbed cotton edging. The front and back panels are gathered into the yoke. They are pieced along the length of the right side, front and back. The yoke is machine-stitched.
