BiographyCatherine A. Mohan is an attorney based in Hartford, Connecticut, known for her work in product liability, mass torts, and consumer class actions. She is a partner at McCarter & English, LLP, where she was also a founding partner of their Hartford office. In 2011, she was named the first female treasurer in the firm's history and gained a seat on its executive committee, also chairing the finance committee.
Mohan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Wheaton College and her law degree from Georgetown University, graduating in 1985. She was admitted to legal practice in Connecticut the same year.
She has notably represented children in immigration court through the Kids in Need of Defense program and assisted an Afghan family seeking asylum. She also volunteered with the Election Protection Coalition during the 2020 presidential election and Georgia runoffs, working to ensure eligible voters could cast their ballots.
She serves on the board for Mercy Housing and Shelter and is a past president of the Greater Hartford Legal Aid Foundation.
