Diane Woodfield Whitney
Diane Woodfield Whitney is a lawyer specializing in land use and environmental law. She is a partner at Pullman & Comley, where her practice focuses on improving quality of life through sensible land use.
Whitney pursued her higher education at William Smith College, and later earned a master's degree from Colgate University. Before her legal career, she taught English in Ilion, New York and Hartford.
Her legal journey began at Danaher, O'Connell, Attmore, Tedford & Flaherty in Hartford, where she handled real estate closings, probate, general commercial litigation, and asbestos defense. In 1987, she joined the Connecticut Attorney General's Office, representing the state in child welfare trials for four years. She then transitioned into land-use law at Pepe & Hazard in 1991, and later at LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae's Hartford office in 1994, before leaving in 2003.
Whitney has been instrumental in significant projects, such as the development of Great Pond Village, a large brownfield site being transformed into a sustainable planned community. She has also served as president of Greater Hartford Legal Aid.
