DescriptionMan's vest of white pique cotton, with a low-cut, rounded neckline edged with a narrow shawl collar. The center front opening fastens with three studs (now missing). Each side of the front is cut with a point so that the lower edge of the vest is W-shaped at the center. There is a breast pocket on each side, and a four-inch-wide pocket on each lower side. The back of the vest is plain, white cotton. The fit adjusts with a buckled strap across the lower back. The fabric strap is looped through the buckle and fastened with a mother of pearl button. The lining fabric is the same plain, white cotton used for the backing.
