DescriptionMan's vest of cream-colored twill-woven wool flannel. It has a standing band collar and buttons to the neck. Studs were used, so the button side of the opening is worked with eyelets for the stud shanks. The vest has a breast pocket on the proper left side and a 4 3/8-inch-wide pocket on each lower side. The waist is slightly dipped. The backing fabric is brown twill-woven cotton. A buckled strap across the back adjusts the fit. The lining is plain, undyed cotton. The lower edge at center back is notched. The collar edge, center front opening edges, and lower front edges are finished with a fine silk cord.
