DescriptionBoy's vest of maroon cotton, woven in a checked pattern with a heavier yarn. The junctions of the checks are white, and short white threads are woven along the ribs. The vest is double-breasted, with five sets of mother of pearl buttons and buttonholes along each side so that it may be fastened to the left or to the right. There are two welted pockets on each side (welts are 7/8-inch-deep). There is an interior breast pocket in the lining of the proper right side. The lining and the backing are plain, white cotton. The fashion fabric faces the inside edges of the breast front to a depth of approximately 1 3/4 inch. A strap of the plain cotton buckles across the lower back to adjust the fit.
