DescriptionSmall-mouthed redware preserve jar with a cylindrical body, narrow neck, and a rim that supported a fitted lid (now missing). Incised lines and bands circle the shoulder of the jar. The interior is coated with a lead glaze, and much of the exterior is as well, with the exception of the bottom half inch of the jar, which is unglazed. Many irregular patches of manganese black have been applied to the exterior of the jar.
There is one crack in the rim that extends down for just over an inch. Many small chips of glaze are missing from the top surface of the rim, and there is one larger chip on the side of the rim. There is light crazing over all the glazed surfaces of the jar, and light scratches over the exterior.
