DescriptionSmall-mouthed redware preserve jar that has a cylindrical body, narrow neck, and a rim that supported a fitted lid (now missing). The interior of the jar is coated with a clear or light brown lead glaze. Much of the exterior is coated with this glaze as well, with the exception of the bottom inch of the jar. Several irregular patches of manganese black have been applied to the exterior of the jar.

There are scratches all over the glazed exterior surface of the jar, and one hairline crack in the rim. There is only one significant chip in the rim, although some of the glaze has chipped off the top edge of the rim.
