DescriptionSmall, small-mouthed redware preserve jar that has a cylindrical body, a narrower neck, and a rolled rim. The interior of the jar is coated with a lead glaze, and much of the exterior is as well, with the exception of the bottom inch of the jar, which is unglazed. Several irregular smudged patches of manganese black have been applied to the exterior of the jar on the neck, shoulder, and sides. There are many light scratches on the exterior glazed surface of the jar, and crazing on all interior and exterior glazed surfaces. A short but narrow area of glaze is missing from the rim, revealing the redware below.
