DescriptionSmall-mouthed redware preserve jar that has a cylindrical body, narrow neck, and a slightly flared rim. The interior of the jar is coated with a lead glaze, and much of the exterior is as well, with the exception of the bottom inch of the jar, which is unglazed. Several small irregular patches of manganese black have been applied to the exterior of the jar.
There is crazing over all the glazed surfaces of the jar. About fifteen chips of various sizes are located on the rim. An unknown green or black substance has adhered to the bottom inch or two of the jar. That same substance is found beneath the flared rim.
