DescriptionSmall-mouthed redware preserve jar that has a cylindrical body, narrow neck, and a rim that supported a fitted lid (now missing). The interior of the jar is coated with a lead glaze, and much of the exterior is as well, with the exception of the bottom inch of the jar, which is unglazed. Several irregular patches of manganese black have been applied to the exterior of the jar.
There is one large chip in the rim. The exterior glazed surfaces show significant crazing on the top two thirds of the jar; the edges of the craze lines have turned white.
