DescriptionSmall-mouthed redware preserve jar that has a cylindrical body, narrow neck, and flared rim that would have supported a lid (now missing). The interior is coated with a clear lead glaze, and much of the exterior is as well, with the exception of the bottom inch of the jar, which is unglazed. A handful of irregular patches of manganese black and copper green have been applied to the outside of the preserve jar, just below the neck.

There is light crazing over all the glazed surfaces of the preserve jar; much of the glaze has chipped off the top surface of the rim. There is one crack in the rim, and a chip in the glaze on the side of the jar.
