DescriptionSmall-mouthed redware preserve jar that has a cylindrical body, narrow neck, and a flared rim that supported a fitted lid (now missing). Incised lines circle the shoulder and neck of the jar. The interior is coated with a clear lead glaze, and much of the exterior is as well, with the exception of the bottom inch of the jar, which is unglazed. Several small, irregular patches of manganese black have been applied to the outside of the jar. There are many light scratches on the exterior glazed surface of the jar, and most of the glaze is chipped off of the rim.
