DescriptionRound, redware bedpan consisting of a low, wide bowl with the top edges curved inward and a short cylindrical spout attached at one side. A clear lead glaze covers all surfaces of the bedpan, except for the bottom, which is unglazed. Several irregular patches of manganese black have been applied to the top curved surface of the bedpan. The glazed surfaces are crazing, and there are many light scratches on the top curved surface of the bedpan. Much of the glaze has chipped off the end and bottom of the rim of the spout. There is one chip on the inside surface of the curved rim.
