DescriptionView looking west (upstream) at the Stone Bridge on Main Street, crossing the Park River. The bridge was constructed in 1834. Industrial buildings on the left are located on Sheldon Street; buildings on the right are located on Arch Street. A figure of a man sketching in the left foreground is probably a self portrait of the artist. A man in a rowboat appears in the right foreground, near a whimsical group of fish, an eel and other aquatic creatures clustered around a many-pronged hook. A rectangle in the center of the drawing indicated the portion of the design to be included in the final composition published in Barber's Historical Collection's of Connecticut.
