DescriptionView of Smithville, from the shore at Derby Landing. The Housatonic River is on the left, inscribed "water." The Leavenworth Bridge is visible on the extreme left. The industrial building to the right of the bridge, labeled "copper" is a copper factory. The large house on the hill above it is the house of Sheldon Smith. Buildings to the right are identified as "Augur," "Tacks," "Saw Mill" and "Grist Mill." The trees to the right of these buildings are identified as "Button Wood."
