DescriptionGroup of four teacups (.a) and four saucers (.b) made of heavy porcelain with printed underglaze red decoration. The red printed designs show several different scenes, all relating to Connecticut. The scenes are surrounded by curved scrolls, each with a title below. The first is titled, "HARTFORD from EAST HARTFORD 1847" and shows two boats on a river with two- and three-story buildings clustered together on the opposite shore. A person is fishing in the left foreground. The next scene is titled, "WILLIMANTIC 1847" and shows two industrial buildings on a river. There are a woman and child in the left foreground. The third scene, titled, "OLD STATE HOUSE 1847" shows a street leading directly away from the viewer with a two-story structure on the left that has a circular cupula. Various three-story buildings line the wide street. The final scene is titled, "WADSWORTH ATHENEUM 1842" and shows a two-story, Gothic-style structure with four towers. There are four individuals standing in the foreground, a man and a woman on the left and two women on the right.

Teacups (.1a-.4a): The round teacups each have a small molded and applied handle. Each teacup is decorated on the outside with two scenes, that of the Wadsworth Atheneum and the view of Hartford from East Hartford. Below the scenes are a small border of acorns and oak leaves. Above the scenes, at the rim, is a thin border of lines and circles. This same border is repeated on the handle of each teacup.

Saucers (.1b-.4b): Each of the round saucers is decorated at the rim with three scenes, that of the Old State House, the view of Hartford from East Hartford, and the view of Willimantic. A border of acorns and oak leaves decorates the inside edge of each rim. A thin border of lines and circles decorates the outside edge of the rim of each saucer. The saucers all have light scratches on the top surface. Additionally, saucer .1b has a series of cracks crossing the bottom.

MarkingsEach teacup and saucer has the following mark printed on the bottom. The mark consists of a wreath with a crown over the letter "S", then, "CHINA" inside. Above the wreath is the pattern line name of "LAMBERTON", and "STERLING" below the wreath. Below this is a "MADE IN U.S.A." mark. This mark is printed in black on the teacups and saucers .1b and .2b. The mark is printed in green on saucers .3b and .4b.

Additionally, each item in the group has a date code and another letter printed on the bottom. They are as follows:
