BiographyArthur H. Healey was born in New Haven, Connecticut. He graduated from New Haven High School and earned degrees at Trinity College and Harvard Law School. He was admitted to the state bar in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Healey served in the state Senate in the 1950s and rose to majority leader. He was a judge in the former state Court of Common Pleas from 1961 to 1965, then in the Superior Court from 1965 to 1979. He was appointed an associate justice on the Connecticut Supreme Court in 1979. After stepping down from the high court in 1990, Healey worked as a state trial referee until 1998. He died on 25 July 2003 in New Haven.
