Concordia Vechesloff Gregorieff

Russian, 1884 - 1963
BiographyConcordia Veschesloff Gregorieff was born on 15 May 1884 in Russia. She married General Alexander Paul Gregorieff (1871-1947). Her husband served under both Tsar Alexander III and Tsar Nicholas II, fought in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I, and was a personal friend of members of the Russian royal family. During the 1917 Russian Revolution, the Gregorieff family was forced into hiding after he joined the White Army. The family escaped to Constantinople and stayed there at least three years. In 1923, the family immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island and eventually settled in West Hartford, Connecticut. She died on 31 January 1963 in Hartford.
