Igor A. Gregorieff

American, 1908 - 1991
BiographyLt. Col. Igor A. Gregorieff was born on 23 June 1908 in Russia. He was the son of Concordia Vechesloff Gregorieff (1884-1963) and General Alexander Paul Gregorieff (1871-1947). His father served under both Tsar Alexander III and Tsar Nicholas II, fought in the Russo-Japanese War and World War I, and was a personal friend of members of the Russian royal family. During the 1917 Russian Revolution, the Gregorieff family was forced into hiding while his father joined the White Army. The family escaped to Constantinople and stayed there at least three years. In 1923, the family immigrated to the United States through Ellis Island and eventually settled in West Hartford, Connecticut.

He attended Ohio Wesleyan University and served as an intelligence officer during World War II. He married Weda Cheyney. He died on 8 July 1991 in Aiken, South Carolina.
