BiographyDorothy K. Robinson is a lawyer with a career in higher education law and administrative leadership. Dorothy Robinson earned her B.A. with honors in economics from Swarthmore College and her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law.
Robinson served at Yale University for 37 years, including significant roles as Vice President and General Counsel, and later as Counselor to the President. During her time at Yale, she built and led the institution's legal team.
After retiring from Yale, Robinson continued her legal career as Of Counsel in the New York office of K&L Gates LLP, focusing on tax-exempt organizations and higher education practices. She became Senior Counsel in 2019. She also served as a trustee of Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association Inc., a director of TIAA Bank, FSB, and a director of the Oak Spring Garden Foundation in Virginia. She is also a board member of Newark Public Radio, Alliance to Cure Cavernous Malformation, and the Yale Peabody Museum Leadership Council.
She has also contributed as a columnist for Trusteeship Magazine and previously for the Association of Governing Boards.
