DescriptionEight military officers on horseback are tightly grouped together. All wear hats or caps, some with plumes, and jackets with epaulets. The man in the foreground wears a long overcoat. His left hand is on the hilt of his sword. A palm tree is in the left background, a tent is in the right background, and an American flag flying from a tall flagpole is in the center.
