DescriptionFifteen men wearing military uniforms in the style of the American Revolution stand at attention. Uniforms include hats with plumes, coats with epaulets, shirts with lace cuffs, vests, sashes, pants, boots, and gloves. Each man holds a sword with the point resting on the ground in front of him. Most men have beards or mustaches. A statue of Israel Putnam is in the left background. The Connecticut State Capitol is in the right background. A large flag with a bust-length portrait of Putnam in an elaborate frame is in the center.
