DescriptionA group of men in military uniform are storming an arched bridge from the left. Some men have mustaches. Some hold swords. Others hold what appear to be long pikes. Some wear knapsacks. The young officer in the lead wears a cocked hat with a plume, and has a sash tied around his waist. He holds a flag in his left hand and a sword in his right hand. Some soldiers fall dead or wounded. A canon ball is in the right foreground, and canon smoke fills the right background. Buildings, a canon, and ranks of soldiers are barely visible at the far right.
