DescriptionA man in military uniform stands beside his horse while a soldier kneeling beside him wraps a bandage around his bare right foot. His uniform consists of a cocked hat, coat, vest, breeches and one boot, on his left foot. A sword hangs at his side. Another soldier, wearing a high fur hat with a plume, holds his right boot. Two other soldiers stand at the left. A man wearing a turban, a vest trimmed with braid, a long-sleeved shirt, and pantaloons stands at the right, holding the bridle of the horse. A long curved scimitar hangs from his waist, and a dagger is tucked beneath his vest. Some men have mustaches. A mounted soldier leads two horses down a steep hill in the left background. The walls and towers of a city are in the distance, largely concealed by the smoke of battle.
