DescriptionA man with a wearing a military uniform stands in the interior of a room. He holds a military cap in his left hand. With his right arm he embraces a woman. She wears a dress with a v-shaped waistline, a brooch, and earrings; she holds what appears to be a miniature in her hand. Drapery and an open window are behind them at the left. A birdcage hangs overhead. A second soldier with a horse stands outside the open door beside a railing with an ornamental urn at the top. Trees and hills are in the background.
