DescriptionSmall girl's dress of blue and white woven check cotton. The dress has a high, round neckline edged with a narrow ruffle made of scalloped whitework embroidery. The ruffle is headed by a decorative tape woven with a design imitating featherstitching. The bodice front and back are stitched with vertical box pleats. The long sleeves are full and gathered into the armscye and into the wrist cuffs, which are also decorated with the whitework ruffle. The waistline is high; the white "featherstitched" tape is stitched around it. The skirt is full and gathered into the waistline. The center back opening extends 12 1/2 inches and fastens with four mother of pearl buttons.
