DescriptionGirl's dress of white rib-woven cotton. The dress has a dropped waistline, high, round neckline with a turn-down collar edged with scalloped whitework, and long, two-piece sleeves which are decorated with two rows of scalloped whitework around the wrists. The center front opening fastens with six mother of pearl buttons. The buttonhole placket is edged with scalloped whitework embroidery. A vertical strip of scalloped whitework edging under a bias-cut band of self-fabric is stitched down each side of the front. A patch pocket edged around three sides with a whitework ruffle, and decorated with two mother of pearl buttons at the upper corners, appear on each hip. The dropped waistline is defined by a bias band of self-fabric over a whitework ruffle. The skirt is pleated and edged with a three-inch-deep band of scalloped whitework. The collar is square, like a shallow sailor collar, in back. The three seams down the back are piped. They open into pleats at about hip level, and have a button decorating this juncture. The two center back panels fall straight to the scalloped edging of the skirt. The self-fabric, bias-cut band defining the dropped waistline does not continue over the center back.
