DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton woven with a reverse twill stripe. The dress is cut on the bias, so that the stripes are oriented up towards the center, in an inverted V. The neckline is high and round, and is edged with a ruffle of scalloped whitework embroidery stitched under a binding, through which is inserted a drawstring. The center front of the dress is inserted with a band of whitework, which extends from the neckline to the bottom of the hem. The dress is unfitted and flares towards the bottom. The long sleeves are set smoothly into the armscye, which is piped. The wrist openings have a turn-back cuff edged with narrow, scalloped whitework. The center back opening of the dress extends eight inches and fastens with three mother of pearl buttons.
