DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton woven with a very fine rib. The dress is gathered into the wide, round neckline, which is gathered on a drawstring and edged with scalloped whitework embroidery. Two strips of whitework are inserted on either side of the dress front, extending from the neckline to the bottom of the skirt. Self-fabric ties are stitched on either side of these strips at the waistline. The ties are forty inches long. The short, puffed sleeves are edged around the arm openings with the scalloped whitework, which has a design of flowers within ovals. The sleeves are cut approximately in a donut shape with an offset hole; the wider edge is gathered into the shoulder, while the armhole is smooth. The center back opening extends for nine inches and closes with the drawstring at the neckline.
