DescriptionInfant's dress of white cotton with a square neckline edged with scalloped embroidery and controlled by drawstrings. The short sleeves are gathered at the top of the shoulder and are decorated with pintucks flanking an insertion of whitework embroidery. The front panel of the dress is cut in a wedge-shape, flaring towards the bottom. The back panel is cut in one piece and wraps around the sides to the front panel. The seams between the two pieces are inserted with a strip of whitework embroidery, which are also flanked by decorative pintucks. This same treatment surrounds the bottom of the dress. The center back is slit open for five inches and finished with a narrow hem. It ties closed with the drawstring at the neckline.
