DescriptionWoman's short chemise, with wide, round neck. A casing in the neckline shows that it originally had a ribbon drawstring. The neckline and armholes are edged with scalloped whitework embroidery. The center front of the chemise is decorated with groups of pintucks alternating with fine dots of embroidery in groups of four. The center back of the chemise is gathered at the neckline. The chemise is cut with a flare towards the bottom. It is edged with a two-inch-wide self-fabric ruffle around the bottom.
