DescriptionGirl's dress of white cotton, with a dropped waistline and high, round neckline. The bodice is decorated with three vertical rows of whitework embroidery insertion on both front and back. The two-piece sleeves are slightly curved and are set smoothly into the armscye, which rests at the natural shoulder. The sleeves end in a 2 1/4-inch-deep, whipped ruffle of scalloped whitework embroidery, headed by a band around the wrist of whitework matching that used on the bodice. This whitework insertion encircles the dropped waistline. The skirt is decorated with rows of tucks and ruched self-fabric on either side of a band of whitework insertion. The bottom is edged with scalloped whitework, 3 1/4-inch-deep, with a feathery frond design. The center back opening extends 15 1/2 inches, to the dropped waistline, and fastens with ten mother of pearl buttons.
