DescriptionWoman's morning sacque of woven white checked cotton. The sacque opens for the length of the center front and fastens with nine mother of pearl buttons (two are replacements). The turn-down collar is edged with a ruffle of whitework eyelet embroidery. Flanking the opening are box pleats, which are stitched down to the waistline and then the fullness is released to flare over the hips. The sleeves are cut with upper and lower seams like a coat sleeve, but are tight and set smoothly into the armscyes. The wrist openings are edged with an eyelet-embroidered ruffle. The back of the sacque has two stitched-down box pleats which are released at the waistline like those in front. The bottom edge of the sacque is trimmed with an eyelet-embroidered ruffle.
