DescriptionInfant's shirt of white cotton. The body is made of a long rectangle of fabric, with the narrow ends folded to overlap at the center back, creating an opening. The top corners of the folds are cut on a slant, for setting in the sleeves, which are 2 3/4 inches wide (including trimming). The sleeves are set at a right angle to the body, forming a wide, square neckline. The inside and outside edges of the sleeves are edged with Cluny bobbin lace. Front and back flaps have been added to the neckline, with an insertion of bobbin lace in the seam. The back flaps are straight across the bottom, while the front is stepped. The edges of the flaps are trimmed with Cluny bobbin lace.
