DescriptionInfant's shirt of fine, white linen. It is made of a long rectangle of fabric, with the narrow ends folded to the center back to create the opening. The wide, square neckline is cut out of the top edge and is trimmed with bobbin lace. The fold on each side is slit for three inches, and the tabs created are stitched together at the top to create the shoulder. The slits on the sides have a gusset set into the bottom. The armhole that is thus created is edged with bobbin lace.
