DescriptionSmall boy's chemise of plain, white cotton. It is constructed of a rectangle, folded in half to create the shoulderline. A long, narrow, oval cut out of the center of the foldline creates the broad neckline. This edge is scalloped and embroidered with whitework sprigs. A long, narrow notch cut in each side creates the short sleeves and flared body. The sleeve openings are finished the same as the neck edge. A 3 1/4-inch-wide band of coarser cotton is added to the bottom to lengthen the chemise.
