BiographyCharles Wood Jewett (1913-2000) was the 93rd Lieutenant Governor of Connecticut from 1955-1959 serving with Governor Abraham Ribicoff. In 1946, he became the youngest compensation commissioner in Connecticut history. Prior to his election to the state Senate in 1952, he served two terms in the state House of Representatives. He was elected to the state House in 1941 and again in 1947. He was a partner of the firm Brown, Jewett and Driscoll in Norwich, later named Brown, Jacobson, Jewett and Laudone, for 52 years. He died on 3 November 2000.
