BiographyFrank Pace Jr. was born on 5 July 1912 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was a major in the Army Air Forces in World War II. In 1953, he joined General Dynamics as executive vice president and member of the board of directors. He became president of the company in 1957, and retired in 1963 as board chairman and chief executive officer.
He was the first board chairman for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and served in that post from 1968 to 1972. Since 1977, he had been board chairman of the National Executive Service Corps, a nonprofit consulting concern that he helped found.
