Frank Cheney, Jr.

BiographyFrank Cheney, Jr. was born on 14 August 1860 to Frank Cheney, Sr. (1817-1904) and Susan Jarvis Cushing. His father was one of the founders of the Cheney Silk business. Frank was an 1882 graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology but instead of working in engineering he joined the family business. He was president of Cheney Silk Mills for almost twenty years and afterwards served as chairman of the board. Frank was active in the community and even served as a state representative in the mid-1900s. Frank married Florence White Wade in January of 1897 and they had one child, Frances Virginia Cheney Platt (1902-1960). Frank died on 31 March 1957 at the age of 96.
