BiographyEugene Stein was born in the USSR, what is now Estonia. In 1892, he entered the Russian Foreign Office and served in the Czarist regime as charge d'affaires and ambassador to China, Korea, Brazil, and Argentina. He was an interpreter in the Russo-Japanese War in 1904. In 1933, he moved to West Hartford, Connecticut. He worked at the Colt factory and at the Hartford Machine Screw Company during World War II. He then worked at Hartford Hospital. He died on 18 September 1961 at Hartford Hospital.
