William J. Cibes Jr.
American, 1944 - 2024
BiographyWilliam J. Cibes Jr. was born in Kansas and later moved to New London, Connecticut in 1969. He served in the Connecticut House of Representatives for six terms between 1978-1988. He became the president of the Connecticut State University system in 1994, retiring as its chancellor in 2006. Cibes served on the board of the Connecticut News Project, the publisher of The Connecticut Mirror, from its launch in 2010 until 2018. He died on 15 February 2024 in Farmington, Connecticut.
