BiographyNancy Johnson was born on 5 January 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. She moved to New Britain, Connecticut as an adult. She served as a member of the Connecticut State Senate from the 6th district from 1977-1983, as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Connecticut from 1983-2007, and as Chair of the House Ethics Committee from 1995-1997.
