Thruston Morton (1907-1982) represented Kentucky's 3rd congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1947-1953 and Kentucky in the U.S. Senate from 1957-1968. Morton was Assistant Secretary of State for Legislative Affairs under President Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1953-1956. He was chair of the Republican National Committee from 1959-1961.
